Program Overview
The Women's Leadership Training Institute (WLTI) was inaugurated at Washington University in St. Louis during the 1985-86 academic year. WLTI was developed to promote a more equitable environment for student leaders across gender lines, but the years have shown that the program achieves much more than this. By empowering women to be active and reflective participants in their college experience, WLTI plays a part in developing strong women leaders on campus, in the workforce and in their future communities.
Formerly a two-day institute, WLTI is now a semester-long program offered in the fall and spring designed to develop the leadership skills of undergraduate women through a series of workshops, panel discussions, networking opportunities and evaluative experiences. This semester, the WLTI committee will be holding several programs that will inspire, encourage, and enlighten students on leadership, diversity, and women's issues.
