The Office of Student Activities staff seeks to empower students to be effective citizens and to foster respectful communities at Washington University, as well as foster an understanding and appreciation of differences among members of our community through programs and activities.
Our mission is to:
- Help students examine and learn more about who they are in terms of their multiple identities (ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion and culture)
- Create an environment that is supportive of and that addresses the needs of a diverse population.
- Provide an opportunity for the Washington University community to learn about the many diverse cultures, identities and experiences present at the University and in larger society.
- Examine and address issues of intolerance, oppression, advocacy and social change regarding diverse populations.
The Coordinator for Student Involvement/Multicultural Leadership seeks to reach these goals and address these issues by serving as an advocate for multicultural students and a resource for diversity issues, as well as advising student organizations on organizational, leadership and pragmatic issues. For more information on ways to get involved, please contact osaleadership@wustl.edu or call the Office of Student Activities at 935-5994. |
