Founded in 1999, Service First provides an opportunity for new students to volunteer in St. Louis and to identify ways to stay involved in the community throughout the year. Held every year on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, over 1000 students, staff, and faculty volunteer with the St. Louis Public Schools to help brighten schools for the children. At the conclusion of Service First, a community service fair is offered on the South 40, featuring student-run community service groups.
